Getting to know Wendy Sloan

Congratulations on taking the first steps to a healthier you. My name is Wendy, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I believe the relationship with a client should be one filled with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. I utilize methods such as person-centered and solution-focused therapy styles, along with motivational interviewing. This approach empowers you to solve your own problems using your own abilities. It is a goal-oriented approach to problem-solving that often allows you to see the change you are looking for sooner. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, but above all, I believe in meeting you where you are and supporting you every step of the way. I work with adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples. I am glad you have taken the first steps toward making a change in your life, and I hope I can help you on your path toward a happier, healthier you. When you are ready, I am here to support you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The goal of the first therapy session is for you to be heard and supported. Moving forward with each session the goals will evolve and change as you evolve and change. But you should always feel heard, seen, valued and supported on your therapy journey.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
