Wesley Cole, LCSW

Psychotherapist
GA
Greetings! I am a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) in Georgia, originally from Ohio. I am a Vietnam-Era Veteran with experience working with veterans and the homeless population. While my expertise is in Substance Abuse, I am also skilled in addressing Mental Health issues such as PTSD, Depression, Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and more. My approach My skills include CBT, Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Harm Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing, along with knowledge of other therapy modalities. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and a Master's degree in Social Work (Mental Health) from the University of Cincinnati. My focus I have spent the majority of my career working with veterans, homeless individuals, and clients struggling with substance abuse. Although I don't limit myself to working only with veterans, that is where I feel most comfortable, as I am a veteran and a recovering alcoholic myself. I am familiar with homelessness and have personally struggled with alcohol and drug use. Thanks to my "Higher Power," I have maintained sobriety for over 20 years. My communication style My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I reject stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic–psychodynamic, and rational-emotive counseling. I tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My journey to therapy As mentioned, I have faced challenges with drug and alcohol use. After getting sober, I became very active in Alcoholics Anonymous and sponsored many individuals working toward sobriety. Helping others also helped me, and it became clear that pursuing further knowledge in addiction was my calling.
