“I initially booked for a pre-Bariatrics surgery, which is a requirement for my insurance, however, I felt so comfortable talking to her and saw that ongoing therapy would be beneficial for me, that I rebooked for ongoing therapy would. Whitney was so down to earth, professional and easy to talk to. I felt supported and not judged.”

Getting to know Whitney Bonds

Sometimes therapy begins with the sense that something needs attention — a shift in mood, stress that won’t ease, or patterns that feel harder to manage. Therapy offers a supportive space to slow down and make sense of what’s happening. I’m Whitney Bonds, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional overwhelm, burnout, and life transitions and/or adjustments. My goal is to create a space where you feel accepted, understood, and supported — without pressure to have everything figured out. My style is warm, energetic, and grounded. I bring curiosity, compassion, and structure into sessions while also recognizing the grit it takes to do meaningful therapeutic work. Therapy with me is collaborative and honest, with room for both depth and practicality.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe me as bubbly, validating, and easy to talk to, while also being thoughtful and direct when it matters. I recognize how vulnerable therapy can be and aim to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and respectful of your pace. Sessions are tailored to your needs. Some days we process emotions or explore patterns; other days we focus on practical tools, skill-building, or gentle challenges to what’s keeping you stuck. You Might Be a Good Fit If You’re… -In your 20s or 30s feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out -High-functioning externally but struggling internally -Working on emotional regulation, boundaries, or self-trust -Navigating life transitions, identity shifts, or relationship stress -Looking for therapy that feels supportive, structured, and human A Few Common Questions Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on? No. Many people begin therapy feeling unsure. Clarity often develops through the process. Is it okay if I’m nervous to start? Yes — that’s very common. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and supportive. Is therapy only for when things are really bad? Not at all. Many people come to therapy to better understand themselves, build resilience, or prevent patterns from becoming more overwhelming over time. How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me? The therapeutic relationship matters. If you’re looking for a therapist who is warm, engaged, structured, and honest — while still being compassionate — we may be a good fit. It’s also okay if it takes time to decide.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I use an integrative approach grounded in DBT, IFS, and CBT, allowing therapy to support both insight and real-life change. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on building skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication — especially when emotions feel intense or overwhelming. Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps you understand and relate to different parts of yourself (such as the anxious part, the inner critic, or the part that feels stuck) with curiosity and compassion, supporting greater self-trust and clarity. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) addresses patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling stuck, and supports you in developing more balanced and realistic ways of responding. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel welcomed, understood, and empowered — a space that supports resilience, insight, and meaningful change. If you’re ready to begin, I’d be honored to work with you.
