Hello, I'm Peter, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas. Since 2020, I've been in private practice, working with a wide range of mental health issues, family dynamics, and substance abuse. Before that, I spent about a decade in various case management roles, gaining invaluable experience that I bring into my practice today. I genuinely enjoy getting to know people and hearing their unique stories. I believe that the most important aspect of counseling is the trust and bond created between client and therapist. My approach aligns closely with person-centered therapy, which means I see you as the expert of your own life. My role is to join you on your journey, offering new insights or simply listening when you need it. In addition to person-centered therapy, I incorporate a lot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice. Simply put, CBT is about changing the way you think to change the way you act, which ultimately changes the way you feel. This approach has been incredibly effective for many of my clients. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and teens on mental and behavioral health issues, as well as family relationships, life transitions, OCD, intimate and romantic relationships, stress, suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors, trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth sessions for those who prefer or need remote therapy. I've had the privilege of working with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I enjoy working with almost everyone and look forward to getting to know a little bit more about you and your life.
