Hi there, I'm Willie! Hello, I'm Will Palmer, and I am licensed in the State of Georgia as a Professional Counselor (LPC). I hold a Master’s in Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I have been practicing in the field as both a direct service provider and administrator for 24 years. I take a client-centered approach to therapy, allowing clients to define their own goals. I create a safe and warm environment so clients feel comfortable sharing their stories. A variety of tools are provided to fit individual needs, and I assist with decision-making to help achieve desired outcomes. My approach I use an eclectic approach by integrating principles from Cognitive Therapy, Person-Centered, Family Systems, and Solution-Focused Therapy. My primary approach is Cognitive Therapy, which emphasizes changing the way one thinks to positively impact emotions and behaviors. My focus I work with individual adults, adolescents, couples, and families. I have extensive experience with at-risk adolescents and families in settings including schools, home-based programs, the Department of Juvenile Justice/Children and Families Services, and Residential and Outpatient Mental Health Centers. I also work with adults facing emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, anger, relationship challenges, and grief. Additionally, I work with couples using assessment tools for premarital and marital concerns. My communication style I view therapy as an empathic art form. I seek to connect with each individual where they are and walk with them to their destination through that connection. Clients consistently tell me they feel relaxed, comfortable, and not judged. I strive to create an atmosphere where clients feel safe and connected. My journey to therapy I became a therapist because I wanted to be better equipped to pursue my goal of helping people.
