Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Yang! Hi! My name is Yang Jiang, and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego. I specialize in helping clients break out of codependency and repetitive cycles of behavior by addressing self-sabotage, low self-esteem, and developing self-sufficiency. My approach I focus on helping clients understand and manage their physical responses to the world, which leads to better regulation of overstimulation and emotions. As a result, clients develop a sense of control and understanding of their experiences. My goal is to give clients freedom from impulsivity and overwhelm, allowing them to feel calmer overall and make more intentional, healthy choices. My focus I work with adult individuals who are ready to create change in their lives. Those interested in taking responsibility for their choices, who want not only validation of their pain but also support to break free from repetitive cycles and find freedom in a new life, are the best fit for my approach. I have a strong background working with depression, anxiety, and clients with immigrant parents, particularly those of AAPI descent. My communication style Working with me is clarifying, grounding, and practical. I connect psychological, emotional, and physical experiences with clear explanations of why they occur, providing a roadmap to begin creating change and shifting toward healthier states. I integrate multiple perspectives and hold past, present, and future experiences so clients feel guided by someone with wisdom, vision, and understanding. My goals for you I work collaboratively with clients. I listen carefully to what they are asking for and use my words to clarify those goals. I also offer suggestions to make goals more manageable and aligned with research and best practices.

Entire session was a bit confusing. Was promptly seen at my appointment time which I appreciated, she asked me what was going on and why I’m here today to which I gave her a lengthy explanation for 12 minutes, going over all the symptoms and what not, and after listening she asked me how I felt, and if this was working for me. What was working, I had just finished answering your question, how did I feel about what? She then asked if I wanted to continue, which was all pretty confusing. I kept going but it seemed like she had places to be.
