Yeshara Acosta, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Yeshara (yeh-SHAH-ruh) Acosta, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University, but most importantly, a fellow human being. People deserve to be free, and I am proud to be part of that process for others as others have been for me. My approach I believe in being firm yet kind in deconstructing and rebuilding ourselves. DBT, ACT, and Person-Centered are some avenues I use in healing. I tailor methods to meet individual needs while challenging clients to go further to live better. My focus Clients seek me for guidance with challenges in relationships (family, romantic, etc.), identity, spirituality, LGBTQ+ issues, trauma (all types), emotional dysregulation, co-dependency, boundaries, anxiety, depression, and self-exploration. My communication style Humor, compassion, honesty, openness, directness, and safety are essential to growth, and that’s what I bring. I will challenge and push you, but never walk over you. We go at your pace, not mine. My journey to mental healthcare The beauty of watching someone have that “Aha” moment; the weight lifting off after years of carrying a burden; the moment of clarity, forgiveness, and peace after pain— that’s why I do what I do. I love teaching others that freedom is possible and watching people grow is fulfilling and humbling. My goals for you Therapy is like building a map of where you’ve been and where you are, then using that to figure out where you’re going. We build that map together and find a better direction. My first session with you Clients can expect a full breakdown of policies, procedures, legal info, an intake, and assessment of history, but more importantly, getting to know you and ensuring we are a good fit. The right client-therapist relationship is super important, so don’t settle.
