Getting to know Yevette Stone Patterson
I will always greet a person with a friendly hello, state my name at the beginning of the conversation, and do so with a smile and a sense of warmth. I will address the client by their last name until told otherwise. I give the client my full attention, ask about their needs, and what they would like to address. I remain professional at all times.
My approach
My focus includes personal growth and self-esteem, general relationship challenges (family, friends, co-workers), marriage and partnerships, religion and spirituality, mental health, and addictions. I use psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive, cognitive-behavioral, and client-centered therapy approaches.
My focus
My goal is to be compassionate in all situations, offer a listening ear, and provide a safe place to process and heal from emotional stress. I specialize in mental health, addiction, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and spiritual concerns.
My communication style
I believe in creating a therapeutic alliance by offering a listening ear, a calm voice, and empathy when it is needed and appropriate.
My journey to mental healthcare
In 2004, I experienced life-changing events that inspired me to give back to those suffering from mental health disorders and addiction. I am grateful for the good friends who encouraged me to become a therapist and helped me develop a strong sense of self.
My goals for you
When setting goals with clients, I believe they should be agreed upon and achievable. Together, we create a plan of action, track accomplishments, identify patterns to avoid, recognize obstacles, and highlight what inspires you.
My first session with you
I typically ask questions about your presenting concerns as well as your history and background to better understand your needs.

Yevette was caring yet probing and was direct with empathy which was exactly what I needed. She has the ability to make you feel like you are her only client because she really listens and follows up on you and your life. She's great and helped me get to a place where I can move forward with the tools I need daily.

Yvette is open minded to my personal perspective. As a gay male I was very worried about have a gay provider because gay men therapists always seem to over sexualize and assume every problem is about sex if you are a gay man or childhood trauma, that my personal opinion. I don’t like that. So that’s why I wanted a female and I was hoping I didn’t have to deal with that. But Yvette takes her time with me and doesn’t jump to any conclusions and helped find explore things in a calm organized way.
