Getting to know Yevgeniya (Jenny) D'Alessandro

*** WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY MEDICARE OR MEDICAID INSURANCE PLANS*** Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in depression, or struggling in your relationships? You don’t have to navigate it alone. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of experience, I specialize in helping adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and stress-related burnout. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of their next step — and leave with clarity, confidence, and practical tools to move forward. My approach is open, direct, and supportive. I create a space where you can speak honestly without judgment, while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I tailor therapy to your specific needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and strengths-based techniques. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling from Touro College and University System, and my training informs a grounded, practical, and compassionate style of care. If you’re ready to reconnect with your inner strength and create meaningful change, I would be honored to support you. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, but reaching out is already a sign of strength.

What should a new client know about working with you?

From a young age, I’ve been deeply interested in human behavior and relationships — why some people seem to move through life with ease while others feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. That curiosity led me to study mental health counseling and dedicate my career to helping people better understand themselves and create meaningful change. When working with me, you can expect a thoughtful, supportive, and direct approach. I aim to create a safe and respectful space where you can openly explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. At the same time, I gently challenge unhelpful patterns and provide practical tools to help you move forward. My goal is to help you gain insight, build emotional resilience, and develop a stronger sense of clarity and balance in your life. Therapy with me is collaborative — we work together to help you feel less stuck, more empowered, and more aligned with the life you want to live. I primarily work with adults who find themselves at a turning point — whether that involves career stress, relationship challenges, parenting pressures, life transitions, or a growing sense of feeling stuck despite outward success.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is an intake appointment focused on understanding you — what brings you to therapy, what feels stuck, and what you would like to change. We’ll explore relevant background information, including family dynamics, relationships, and life experiences that may be influencing your current challenges. From there, we work collaboratively to set clear, achievable goals. We begin with manageable steps to build momentum and confidence, while keeping your larger vision for growth and fulfillment in mind. My style is open, direct, and supportive. I provide a safe space to explore difficult emotions, while also offering honest feedback and practical tools to help you move forward. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all — I tailor my approach to your unique strengths, personality, and needs, drawing from a range of evidence-based methods to support meaningful and lasting change.

I have been seeing Jenny D’Alessandro on a weekly basis for about one and a half years. For each session, we meet for 45-minutes on Zoom. I enjoy our sessions together, and have noticed a marked decrease in anxiety since we began meeting. Jenny provides a kind, honest, and balanced approach to her work that I both appreciate and have benefited from greatly. I highly recommend Jenny to individuals who are looking to better understand their past feelings and behaviors, and how they can shift or modify these to achieve a healthier and less anxious life.
This is my first time giving therapy a shot, and I definitely hit the jackpot finding Jenny. She is an amazing, warm, kind and patient person. She has been so helpful in getting me to find my voice and discover the problems that have brought me here. We have had couple of sessions and I am looking forward to using her insights and tools on this journey we started.
Attentive, responsive, understanding friendly therapist. Help to give you the support and guidance you needed in life. Pleasant presentation and appropriate communication helps you open up with your issues and find reasoning and acceptable solutions. Overall great help and a great life friend to have.

Jenny is the best! She really tries to understand each situation. I enjoy each session and leave with more clarity and confidence to go through my week.
My session with Jenny was phenomenal, would definently be seeing her again because I can look in the mirror and see the change myself. Not too long ago i was a lost boy and didnt know where to start; but after allowing Ms. D'Alessandro to decompress my story she showed me all the tools i need to take on this challenge we call life. I recently re-enrolled in school & got a new job and though Jenny would say i need to take more credit, i would attribute a lot of my success to her treatment & bedside manner. Just an amazing talent and a great find. Thank You TONS!!
