Ying Zheng, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a California state-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been in this field for a decade, working in multiple sites such as high schools, cross-cultural community centers, hospitals, and churches. I would like to see counseling as my passion and life pursuit. My approach I respect everyone’s right to make a decision about faith, but I do approach therapy using a Christian perspective and values. In addition, I would borrow techniques from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, client-centered, and psychodynamic. My focus I specialize in treating individuals with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, marital and premarital, women’s issues, acculturation issues, as well as those coping with life transitions. My communication style My style is empathetic, non-judgmental, use reflective listening to help you better understand what you go through, assist you in exploring more positive thinking and behavior patterns. My journey to mental healthcare Staring from a young age, I realized the power of words, it can build one up and tear one down. Just very simple words can have a tremendous impact. While I was in college, I became very interested in the study of marriage and family, and determined to help those who suffered much hurt in intimate relationships. To this day, I am still holding to this original desire and endeavor to bring healing to one’s heart and mind. My goals for you Counseling can be compared to a self-discovery journey. I would like you to be open-minded, willing to explore what fits you the best for healthy and lasting changes in life. I would be very patient to walk with you step by step and witness the transformation with you in this journey. My first session with you This will include a brief history taking, e.g., demographics, build rapport, share your concerns and goals, and discuss the duration of therapy.
