Hello! My name is Ylissa Aquino, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I graduated from Pitzer College (one of the Claremont Colleges in California) with a BA in Psychology and earned my Master's in Social Work from Loma Linda University. I have over 9 years of post-master's experience serving clients in California.

My theoretical approaches include Task-Centered Practice, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based, Client-Focused Therapy, CBT, DBT, and Behavioral Activation.
My focus
I have worked with individuals struggling with Academic Concerns, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Career Issues, Depression, Grief, Perfectionism, Stress, Trauma, Relationship Issues, and Workplace Issues.
My communication style
I create a safe space where you can freely talk about how you feel without worrying about being judged. I listen to you and help you understand why you do certain things and what scares you. Together, we figure out what's stopping you from living a happy life.
My journey to mental healthcare
I chose to become a therapist because I believe that in helping others heal, I also find healing for myself. Supporting others through their struggles and guiding them toward positive change brings me a sense of fulfillment and growth. It's a way for me to both contribute to the well-being of others and deepen my own understanding of myself and the world around me.
