What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if it is your first time. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we will identify your goals, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you navigate anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and substance use recovery. I tailor each session to your unique needs using evidence-based approaches, including talk therapy, mindfulness, creative arts therapy, relaxation techniques, and other therapeutic interventions. Creative activities are always optional, and no artistic experience is required. My approach is compassionate, culturally responsive, and client-centered. Whether you are seeking support during a difficult time or working toward personal growth, I am committed to helping you build resilience, improve your mental well-being, and create meaningful, lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During your first appointment, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current challenges, and what you hope to accomplish. This initial conversation helps me better understand your experiences so we can develop a treatment plan that reflects your goals and priorities. Future sessions are personalized to your progress and evolving needs. Depending on your goals, treatment may include cognitive and behavioral strategies, mindfulness, creative arts therapy, emotional regulation techniques, stress management, reflective exercises, or other evidence-based interventions. Throughout therapy, we will monitor your progress, address new challenges as they arise, and refine our approach to keep your treatment aligned with your goals. My focus is to help you gain insight, strengthen healthy coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and apply what you learn in therapy to everyday life so you can continue making progress outside of our sessions.
