Yvette Llanos, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Yvette! Hello! My name is Yvette Llanos, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles, California. I earned my Master's in Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Mount St. Mary's University. I currently work with clients statewide via Telehealth. I work with children, teens, and adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a Humanistic approach to help my clients reach their goals. My approach My approach to therapy is based on the specific needs of my clients. I typically start with a humanistic approach, where the focus is on my clients' experiences, needs, concerns, and goals. The goal of humanistic therapy is to help clients become more self-aware and accepting of themselves. Once I have a good understanding of a client's goals, I may introduce other treatment modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which assists clients in understanding and managing their problems by changing the way they think and behave. My focus I work with children, teens, and young adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, and trauma. Over the 10 years I have been treating clients, I have realized that most clients struggle with a variety of stressors, including diagnosis; therefore, I treat the whole person and not just the disorder. My communication style My communication style is calm, personable, and nonjudgmental. I bring myself into the room and empathize with my clients. This style allows me to foster a healing environment, which is crucial for healing. My goals for you I will work with you to define what you want out of therapy. I will assist you in setting your goals, and we will work together each session to help you move closer to them. The goals will be revised as often as needed to ensure you are getting the most out of our sessions.
