Hi there, I'm Zinat! My name is Zinat Hashmy, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I earned my Master's in Counseling Psychology from Mount St. Mary's University and my Bachelor's from California State University, Northridge. I have worked with many different populations, including older adults, adults, adolescents, and individuals with special needs. My experience spans county services, group homes, inpatient treatment centers, and school-based settings. My approach to therapy is to be fully present with my clients during sessions, offering different viewpoints so they can see the bigger picture and feel more comfortable making decisions about moving forward. I understand that everyone is unique and that one approach does not work for all. I love working with people to help them reach their goals and provide support to keep them on the path to success. I have worked with a wide range of people across age, ethnicity, population, and socioeconomic backgrounds because I want to connect with everyone. I am very comfortable working with all types of individuals experiencing various challenges. When working with clients, my main focus is simply being there for them and ensuring they feel heard. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to the work we are doing, including Solution Focused, Person-Centered, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Strength-Based Therapy.
