What is Psoriasis?
This chronic skin disorder occurs when skin cells multiply too quickly (up to 10 times the normal rate). As a result, thick, scaly, itchy, dry, red patches form on the skin. Thought to be genetic, this condition is not contagious and its severity fluctuates often. While Psoriasis cannot be cured, treatments prescribed by a Dermatologist, such as topical ointments, or oral/injected medications, can provide significant relief.
