Adrian M. Alvarez, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
In a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative setting, I aim to assist clients in feeling empowered, resilient, self-accepted, and better equipped to handle life's varying stressors. I am honored to be in the position of helping clients thrive. My ideal client is an adult (18 y/o - 64 y/o), and I often work with individuals facing a variety of life challenges such as self-esteem issues, grief, life transitions, work-related stress, and parenting challenges—among others—that can manifest as excessive worry, sadness, or feeling unseen and misunderstood. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate University. My primary therapeutic approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I believe that thriving in life involves awareness of both the conscious and unconscious mind. Through heightened awareness, lasting change becomes possible. Clients have shared that they appreciate my calm demeanor and the trust that develops in the therapeutic relationship we build together. If you are ready to take the next step, I am here to understand your experience and to support and empower you. I would love to hear from you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect a safe, non-judgmental, collaborative and supportive setting; in which they will feel seen, heard, respected, and empowered to explore their thoughts and feelings openly in treatment. In the initial session I also like to complete a thorough assessment in order to best understand the client's needs, areas of focus, and/or concerns that they would like to work on in treatment.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
