Psychotherapist
CO
Hi there! I'm Aimee Aron-Reno, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over a decade of experience. I hold a Master?s in Multicultural Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver. I love helping the people I work with find meaning, understanding, and acceptance of who they are and the struggles and pain they feel. We will do this by talking about you and your life in a respectful, empowering, and non-judgmental way. Together, we will seek understanding of you, the relationships in your life, the culture with which you identify, and how you make meaning of the experiences and elements of your life. My approach My primary approaches to therapy are Multicultural and Existential Humanistic Therapies. I believe in supporting the individuals I work with by meeting them wherever they are in their life and helping them (YOU) make meaning of your experiences on your terms?not via the definitions dictated by larger society or dominant systems. My focus I provide individual therapy for persons of many cultural groups and identifications who struggle with challenges such as: ? anxiety ? depression ? stress & stress-related illnesses ? grief and loss ? self-esteem ? formation of identity ? life balance ? relationships ? trauma and abuse My communication style I believe everyone has strength within themselves. The difficulties we encounter in life may cause us to have trouble remembering those strengths?or put simply?they become dusty, sometimes buried, or possibly even masked by physical symptoms. As your therapist, I will hold hope for you until you can do it for yourself again. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist after my own journey in therapy. I found that having a space and a strong support person who allowed me to say what I wanted and needed to say, and to question many of the thoughts and belief systems I held about myself, was liberating, empowering, and helped me to more clearly understand and believe in myself.
