Psychotherapist
NC
Hi there, I'm Alicia! I am a clinical therapist licensed in South Carolina and North Carolina. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Walden University. As a licensed provider, I have worked with individuals for over 20 years during some of their hardest moments. Situations in life can bring many changes, and some of those changes can cause uncertainty, stress, feeling overwhelmed, or like you are alone. You no longer have to pretend you're okay when you're NOT okay. The good news is that you realize you are worthy and deserve support in getting there. My approach I am an advocate for internal growth and improvement in our practices. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, using evidence-based practices to address your concerns. Together, we work to identify the factors that contribute to your stressors and develop effective strategies to work toward mental wellness as we navigate life’s changes. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-focused Therapy (SFT), and Play Therapy to aid you in working toward your therapeutic goals. My focus My passion is working with individuals who have experienced grief/loss, anxiety, depression, addiction, family or work-related stress, and caregiver pressures. I work with individuals from pre-adolescents to adults. My communication style I strive to provide a safe, warm, non-judgmental, and engaging communication style to support your session. I encourage your authenticity as you find your strength and effective ways to navigate life’s experiences. We are all different, and that is okay. My journey to mental healthcare I initially became interested in mental health services after working with homeless teens and individuals impacted by domestic violence. My personal experience has allowed me to understand the effects of life experiences related to grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use on mental health.
