Amanda Sapale, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CO
Hi there, I'm Amanda! My name is Amanda Sapale, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Denver, Colorado, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Boston University. I work with adults facing challenges such as anxiety, life transitions, and relationship concerns, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, and other techniques to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. My approach Everyone comes to therapy with a unique background and goals, so I don’t believe there’s any single approach that fits every client or situation. That’s why I combine aspects of different approaches to craft the treatment that will work best for you. Much of my work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address harmful thought patterns and negative self-talk, along with various mindfulness techniques. I have also seen significant reductions in anxiety symptoms among clients who have done Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) with me. My focus As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community myself, I’m passionate about helping those who are exploring their identity and what they want in life, as well as those who already know they fall outside societal expectations of who we’re “supposed to be.” This can include examining gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship structures like polyamory or other forms of consensual non-monogamy, kink, and addressing lingering shame from religious upbringing. My communication style Clients often remark on how quickly they feel safe in our sessions because of my warm and approachable style. While maintaining professional boundaries, I make it a point to be authentically myself. It wouldn’t be fair to expect clients to be vulnerable if I hid behind an artificially stiff and formal facade. I strive to find a good balance between being your cheerleader and your therapist.
