“it feels like your playing the lottery when you are pitching a therapist from a website. sure there's a photo and a blurb about them and their therapy style, but you never know if you're gonna jive with someone until you meet them face to face (or zoom meeting to zoom meeting).
right from the start amoreena was open, knew how to communicate, was a true listener, and empathetic. she has really helped me take a deeper look at myself and how to deal with myself so i am better able to handle the outside noise. i would recommend her if you are looking for someone who can not only listen, but can dialog, relate, and has actual helpful tips.”

Hi there, I'm Amoreena! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Golden Gate University and over 16 years of experience. I have extensive experience treating a wide variety of issues and psychological disorders, from the mildest to the most severe. I work with adults and adolescents. My approach is warm, positive, and compassionate. I can help you achieve your personal goals, more effectively manage your emotions and stressors, and develop strategies that promote positive self-growth and lead to a more satisfying life. I have worked in a wide variety of settings in addition to my private practice, including schools, residential homes, and outpatient treatment facilities. My specialties include anxiety and depressive disorders, stress management, crisis counseling, grief counseling, and relationships. I believe the process of change through therapy should involve self-understanding and insight into the past, but beyond that, it should also focus on helping clients learn skills for present-time challenges. Therefore, my approach allows clients to develop specific skills for thinking and acting in constructive ways. I am a proponent of therapists actively collaborating with clients to help them find ways to manage life better.
