Amy Dove, LPC

Amy Dove, LPC

Psychotherapist
VA
Life can be really hard, and we all face experiences that shape who we are, for better or worse. Sometimes, we need extra support and guidance to process those difficult moments and improve ourselves and our quality of life. This is where I can help. I believe it is important to meet each client where they are and work alongside them to reach where they want to be. Techniques I use in therapy include active listening, empathy, reframing, communication skills, cognitive behavior modifications, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused CBT, support, and solution-focused approaches. I work with teens, young adults, and adults. The most common issues I address include depression, anxiety, life skills, family problems, assertiveness training, trauma, and anger. I hold a Master's degree in Counselor Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide effective, compassionate care.
