I have been working in private practice for more than 10 years as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from North Carolina Central University. My goal is to empower individuals to take control of their lives and incorporate mental, physical, spiritual, and financial self-care into daily routines. I am open to collaborating with alternative treatment professionals, including acupuncture, chiropractic, hydrotherapy, yoga, massage, and Ayurvedic medicine. My approach I provide a person-centered approach to meet clients where they are, incorporating Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Supportive Counseling, Bibliotherapy, Mindfulness, and Relaxation Skills. My focus My experience centers on supporting adults of all ages from diverse backgrounds. Addictions have been a key focus, and I have spent over 10 years supporting active duty and military families. I work with clients experiencing mood disorders, depression, anxiety, sleep problems, life changes (such as death, divorce, new child, retirement), and women’s issues—areas that align well with my counseling style. My communication style I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable expressing their true emotions and sharing deeper thoughts. I understand that building a relationship takes time and that each person moves at their own pace. My journey to mental healthcare At various points in my life, I have experienced emotional pain and found the light. My hope is to support clients during difficult times to alleviate suffering because all humans need support. Working as a therapist allows me the gift of working from home while balancing life as a single mom of a toddler. Being a mom has given me valuable life experience to best support parents navigating fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.
