Getting to know Andrea Soto

My name is Andrea Soto, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles. I have a strong background in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, grief, and bereavement. The majority of my career has been spent in medical settings, supporting individuals and families facing chronic and complex illnesses or recent traumas. My approach In my practice, I most commonly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, grief counseling, and a strength-based approach. Reframing our thought patterns helps us think realistically and in a balanced way; how we think about events is often more important than the events themselves. My hope is to help you see the value you already hold. My focus I am most comfortable treating individuals aged 18 and older who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or grief. My communication style I believe in using humor when appropriate in therapy because laughter is good for the soul. I strive to create a warm, honest, and comfortable therapeutic setting. My journey to mental healthcare With over 10 years working in medical settings, I have enjoyed my interactions with individuals and families. However, I wanted an opportunity to get to know people on a deeper level and help address the inner thoughts that can cause so much distress. My goals for you Goals are mutually created based on the reasons therapy is sought. It’s an ongoing conversation to ensure your needs are being met throughout therapy. My first session with you During our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other. It’s important to trust who you are working with, and I want you to leave feeling supported and confident that this therapeutic relationship is a good fit for you.
