Hi there, my name is Andrea Velasco Echeverri. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist with a Master's in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida. My eclectic approach to therapy is client-centered, using my creativity and over 10 years of experience to support clients ready to embrace the change they envision for themselves. Since my clients vary in their needs, backgrounds, and preferences, I work in an eclectic manner, embracing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Person-Centered, and Relational Therapies. I focus on individuals seeking balance in their lives who are willing to work and use available tools to illuminate their path and process. Becoming an art therapist and doing clinical work for over 10 years has been the most fulfilling way to learn, collaborate, and support others. I am passionate about using creativity-even when art materials are not involved-to promote problem-solving, sharing space, and witnessing transformation in the healing process. During our first session, we will discuss your current needs and goals, as well as the structure of sessions, including short-term goals. These goals focus on practicing tools built in session outside of therapy to see if they are effective. Our initial meeting will include brief introductions, exploration of any questions you may have, and review of your intake forms and assessments. Together, we will establish a structure that works for you and determine if we are a good fit overall.
