Arlene Espinosa, LMFT

Arlene Espinosa, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
In 2009, I graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Since then, I have had 15 years of experience working with women, children, and families. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience treating individuals with a wide array of mental health concerns. My approach My approach integrates traditional psychotherapy modalities (CBT, DBT) and biblical principles to help clients cope and heal from emotional pain. In addition, to address repeated and unwanted behaviors that have created interpersonal conflicts. My focus The goal is to go to the past, but not stay in the past. Looking at the past helps individuals understand the roots of their pain and move forward with a healthier view of self, others, and God for their future. My communication style I communicate directly, while still offering compassion. I am here to help clients explore the pain of their past, obtain understanding, and develop healthier thoughts and beliefs of self so that they can better navigate stressors and interpersonal relationships. To reach these goals, a client's active participation and committed are necessary. My goals for you At the onset of treatment, I review symptoms, behaviors, diagnoses, and treatment goals. It is a collaborative process, and being upfront and honest with clients is very important to me. As improvements are made and/or as new stressors may arise, I reassure clients that goals and the treatment goals/plan can be updated at any time. My first session with you The first session is a lot of information gathering. As sessions continue, the goal is to develop a therapeutic rapport. It is never easy opening up to a new person. However, the therapeutic journey does require diving deep and exploring the emotional pain that has led you to therapy and taking active steps towards inner healing, change and growth.
