Psychotherapist
18425 Burbank Blvd, Ste 506, Tarzana, CA
Hello! I'm Aubrey Ferman, a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles, CA. I hold a Master’s in Psychology from Phillips Graduate University. I work with clients needing support with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and those who define themselves as neurodiverse or who just don’t fit neatly into a box. My approach My approach in therapy borrows from both Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral concepts. I work collaboratively with clients to review how their histories impact their current lives in order to move forward as their most authentic selves. I guide an exploration of your life story by uncovering and processing the paths your life has taken that influence where you are today. My focus Throughout my career as a therapist, I have worked with clients on anxiety issues, relationship challenges, and difficulties navigating trauma. I specialize in supporting clients as they explore their sense of identity and create a sense of purpose and meaning in their lives. I have worked with clients of various ages and backgrounds and specialize in the gifted population. My communication style I enjoy bringing humor, compassion, and understanding into my work as a therapist. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and safe therapeutic space. I view my role as an emotional contractor, supporting clients in finding strengths they have yet to uncover. I also check in regularly with clients during sessions to ensure we are working toward a shared goal. My journey to mental healthcare My drive to become a therapist has always been to spread positivity, connection, and hope. I initially started my path to become a therapist to help those impacted by negative life events and circumstances, and that has grown into an overall curiosity about how we function in our lives. I worked in community mental health for over 10 years, and I believe my experiences have enriched the dynamic I have with my clients.
