Audrey Slaughter, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Audrey Hayden. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. I believe the most important relationship we have is the one with ourselves, and I'm here to help you navigate the transitions life brings—whether it’s parenthood, loss, grief, or new opportunities. I work with individuals, families, and couples seeking to care for themselves better. My approach I am a person-centered, trauma-informed therapist who works from a framework of self-compassion and empathy. I typically use Narrative Therapy and Collaborative Language Systems approaches, along with interventions from CBT, DBT, and attachment theory. However, I always work from a client-centered perspective to ensure we focus on what matters most to you in our sessions. My focus Clients in my practice often seek support for symptoms of anxiety, depression, or struggles with identity related to life transitions and changes. I also have experience working with couples and families navigating hardships in their relationships. After several years in substance abuse treatment settings supporting individuals and their families, I enjoy helping those navigating early or established sobriety. My communication style I like to be authentic and genuine with my clients—I don’t want to step into being someone different as a therapist. I strive to meet you with a blend of humor, levity, compassion, and honesty. My goal is to make the therapy room a place of support and care, free from judgment or fear. My journey to mental healthcare The phrase "be the person you needed when you were younger" has always resonated with me. I knew I wanted to help others, and after exploring several professions, I realized I seek deep connection with others personally and professionally. This understanding guides my work as a therapist.
