Aurora Romans, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Aurora Romans, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. I believe we all have the capacity to heal ourselves with the right guidance and support. Being a therapist is a calling and a gift-it is my purpose to help those around me find their inner strength and take the steps to live their absolute best life! My areas of expertise include trauma, depression, anxiety, relational issues, anger management, co-occurring disorders, and more. My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused, often incorporating CBT and Narrative Therapy. I work with a wide range of clients, from children and adolescents to adults, couples, and families. I am down-to-earth, warm, friendly, and direct. I want clients to know they are safe, seen, and held, and I often use humor when appropriate to create a comfortable environment. My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep love for being around and helping others. I feel that serving others through this profession is my calling and life's purpose. It is a challenging yet very rewarding career path. When setting goals, I collaborate closely with clients, who are the head coaches in their healing process. Together, we create goals tailored to their strengths and needs. In our first session, if you're new to therapy, we'll discuss what to expect, what brings you to therapy, why now, and what you hope to achieve. If you've been in therapy before, we'll explore what has worked previously, your preferences, and what you're seeking at this point in time.
