Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Bobbie! Hello, my name is Dr. Bobbie Jean Way, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a PsyD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. I have over 17 years of experience helping couples, individuals, and families, specializing in working with first responders and military populations. I am licensed in CA, FL, and TX. My approach I hold certifications in prolonged exposure, CPT, and trauma-informed care. I am also a Gottman-trained therapist for couples therapy. Additionally, I am trained in exposure therapy for OCD and anxiety, as well as CBT and SFBT for depression. My focus I work with individuals, families, and couples, with extensive training in supporting first responders and the military. I have a specialization in working with special forces in the military. I aim to encourage self-acceptance and compassion, which can be vital in reducing self-blame or shame associated with trauma. My communication style My therapeutic communication style promotes techniques that foster appreciation, affection, and positive interactions, emphasizing the importance of friendship in relationships. I support clients in exploring their feelings and improving their relationships. I strive to foster communication that promotes self-awareness and reflection, enabling clients to better understand their thoughts and emotions. My journey to mental healthcare I am doing the career I am meant to. I was pre-med for 2.5 years before taking a psychology elective, and from that one class, I discovered my passion. I love helping others and providing a safe space for vulnerability and hope to change what isn’t working. Working with first responders and the military drives my passion because there is no greater reward than helping our heroes who put their lives on the line for us daily.
