Getting to know Bridgette Payne

You MATTER, you BELONG, you make SENSE. Has anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship conflict left you feeling trapped or empty? Worried you are "crazy," cursed, or too messed up to have the life or love you long for? Inner critics driving you to the edge? Afraid of hurting loved ones? I provide a safe space to speak your truth, understand why you feel what you feel, and be validated and held with compassion. Together, with curiosity, playfulness, and warmth, we'll explore what brought you to therapy, discuss diagnoses if helpful, acknowledge the intelligence of your system, nurture it, incorporate new tools, and celebrate your growth! I work with individual teens and adults, couples, and families using a nonjudgmental, trauma-informed, social and eco-justice, somatic, Nonviolent Communication (NVC), harm reduction, lighthearted approach. Having survived a traumatic childhood, I'll help you navigate and rewire dysfunctional family dynamics. I especially enjoy offering therapy outside and reconnecting to nature and beauty. I hold a Master's in Social Work from San José State University, which informs my compassionate and holistic approach to healing and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clarity about what you feel and why. The feeling of having been heard, validated, and empathized with. Tools that grow presence, relief from anxiety + depression, and warmth toward yourself. Communication skills that help you speak your truth with compassion, prevent and reduce conflict, and build relationships where everyone's needs matter.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
