Britney Meyer, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
I am Britney Meyer, a licensed clinical social worker in both California and Kansas. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Kansas. I am currently based out of the Antelope Valley, California, and accepting clients via telehealth. I work with clients facing challenging experiences who need support managing stress, intense emotions, and thought distortions that arise. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and strength-based with an integrative style, allowing me to provide support tailored to what my client needs in the moment. My approach My approach to therapy is grounded in what my client needs. I draw from various therapeutic modalities, including Integrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I utilize these approaches to help clients gain self-awareness and find ways to move through challenging life transitions. My focus I work with clients navigating life transitions such as career changes, family planning, or social pressures. This can include experiences that trigger depressive or anxious episodes, the grieving process, or feelings of isolation. I have experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, acute crisis, and infertility. My communication style I strive to create a calming environment that feels safe and judgment-free. This space allows me to both validate my clients and appropriately challenge thoughts and behaviors. I lean into where my clients are presently while moving-at whatever pace is needed-toward their therapeutic goals. My journey to therapy I came into therapy not necessarily as an end goal but more so that the therapy profession found me. My undergraduate experience is in Art Education and English Communications, which provides a solid foundation in understanding diverse learning and communication styles while embracing that sometimes a person's way of learning differs from those around them.
