Brittney Walker, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
I am licensed in California with nine years of therapy experience. I have helped clients with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma, and abuse. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seek a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage, and I am here to support you in that process. I bring a unique approach as I embrace the Afrocentric perspective and provide culturally sensitive therapy to minorities through my education from Clark Atlanta University, where I earned my Master's in Social Work, and my experience as a minority from the inner city. I have worked with adults ages 18 to 85 from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am here to de-stigmatize mental health and encourage everyone to have a therapist! I like to use Client-Centered/Person-Centered Therapy because it's all about you! I also enjoy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because by paying attention to our thoughts, we can get to the root of problematic behavior. Therapy is always about being Compassion Focused. I use Motivational Interviewing and incorporate techniques of Mindfulness, along with strength-based and trauma-focused approaches. I also offer couples therapy! I have experience working with clients dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, racial identity/trauma, cultural stress, family conflict, job stress, life transitions, and adolescents/teens. I value open communication with a natural tone that fluctuates as needed to empower you. I use reflective listening and am pretty laid back yet high energy. You will feel like you're talking to an old friend because I'm easy to talk to. At first, I wanted to be a nurse, but I quickly learned that blood and guts weren't for me. Then I wanted to become a school teacher.
