I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I have been practicing psychotherapy for 13 years, primarily with adults. Over the last ten years, I have specialized in the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help people create a life worth living. My experience is in providing individual therapy to individuals with severe mental illness, co-occurring disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and Borderline Personality Disorder. My approach Through the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, a CBT-based therapy, I am able to help people become more mindful, utilize their wise mind, improve interpersonal relationships, regulate their emotions, cope with challenges in life more effectively, and move away from harmful dichotomous thinking, resulting in unnecessary suffering. My focus I work with adults ages 18 to 99. I am comfortable treating Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, PTSD, & Borderline Personality Disorder. My communication style I am very warm, kind, and caring but direct. I approach sessions with my clients with authenticity. My journey to mental healthcare I have always had an interest in psychology. I started my professional career in business, but felt unfulfilled. After supporting an employee in getting out of an abusive relationship, I decided to go back to school to become a therapist. My goals for you I approach goal setting with my clients by asking them if they have any particular goals in mind. If clients are struggling with developing goals, I may see a client for a while and work toward helping them identify their goals by reflecting back on their communication while in session.
