Carol Brady, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
Hi there, I'm Carol! Hello, my name is Carol Brady, like the mom on the Brady Bunch. I am a Licensed Professional Therapist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. My area of practice is working with older individuals who have issues with daily living, depression, and anxiety. My approach The therapeutic approaches I use are derived from the theories of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness. Using aspects from these approaches, we determine what you think you need help with and would like to work on. We then try to solve the issue and hopefully improve your daily life. My focus I practice geropsychology. The types of clients I generally work with are older people, usually 50 years and older. I work with clients who have issues with daily living, not severe mental illnesses such as personality disorders, Bipolar Disorder, or Schizophrenia. My communication style I like clients who want to do the work to improve their lives. I try to create a trusting, open, nonjudgmental environment with clients. While I am not your mother, sister, or best friend, I believe in having your best interests at heart. I feel that each person knows themselves best and will help me to help them make their journey through life better. My journey to mental healthcare People have always been drawn to me over my life and have been able to share their innermost thoughts with me. They know that they will not be judged by anything they disclose to me. This is what drew me to psychology. Helping others is the primary reason that drives me in this work. Life is tough and not getting easier. Realizing we all need help from time to time is a strength, not a weakness. I feel privileged to help individuals on their journey through life. My goals for you Many times I use books or workbooks relevant to the issues we are trying to solve. We read them together and discuss different aspects presented in these books.
