Carrie Harper, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Carrie! Welcome! Are you returning to counseling, or is this your first time? Counseling can open doors in your life, feelings, and experiences. I specialize in trauma and addiction recovery for individuals and couples. If you are still rocked by the years of Covid, had an unstable home life with addictions to porn, sex or substances, or just can’t seem to find the right track, let alone get on it, then together I believe we can find your place in the world. My approach As an Object Relations-based therapist, I will encourage you to develop healthier and more fulfilling relationships, both personally and professionally. This includes friendships, career paths, and romantic connections. We can learn about your emotions and interactions to develop a deeper understanding of your internal reaction patterns. We can untangle PTSD or depression, panic or anxiety with gentle exploration, using empathy, our connection, and creativity, embracing humor, and enhancing your observational and reaction skills to improve your life and the relationships in it. My focus Are you experiencing life transitions, relationship challenges, looking for love in apps, sex and sexting, and your friendships and lovers are all in your gaming life? If you want something “more,” then I am here to help. Are you struggling with chronic pain? Can’t get to sleep without “something” to slow your mind down for rest? Are you looking to contain a habit, maybe give it up for a while, or forever? Hoping to transcend your habits and addictions? These are all things we can accomplish together. A happy, healthy life includes physical well-being, intellectual and emotional well-being, socializing in person, some structure, and routine. If any of these concepts match your treatment goals, then I look forward to working together. My communication style My demeanor is warm, kind, and forthright. I listen carefully to create an environment where trust and safety can grow. Therapy is hard work.
