Cassandra Murrow, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CO
Hi there, I'm Cassandra! I earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver, followed by a Master of Science in Social Work degree in 2010 from Newman University. I spent the next 8 1/2 years working for Child Protective Services, specializing in child sexual abuse and working with both victims and offenders. For the past 12 years, I have worked at a crisis line, speaking with clients over the phone. These calls range from someone feeling lonely and needing to talk to someone to someone being actively suicidal. My approach I offer a range of therapeutic services, including individual, couples, and family therapy, working with adolescents and adults. I believe the counseling process is a collaborative alliance, with clients considered experts in their own lives. Clients can discover their inner strengths to promote positive change. I use various therapeutic modalities, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psycho-educational therapy, and client-centered therapy. My focus I work with adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, suicidal ideation, self-harming, stress, and trauma. My communication style I believe mental health is a journey of self-discovery and growth. I am here to help you on this journey and assist you in viewing issues from a different lens. My goals for you Setting your treatment goals will be a joint effort. We will meet to discuss your struggles and how best to address them. Once goals are set, they will be reviewed every couple of weeks and updated as needed. My first session with you During our first session, I will review your family dynamics, medical and behavioral health history, medication, and primary concerns. We will also begin discussing what you expect to get out of therapy and your treatment goals.
