Catherine Hughes, LPC

Catherine Hughes, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
I am a licensed professional counselor, licensed addiction counselor, and marriage and family therapist candidate. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. I work with clients who suffer from the long-term impacts of trauma and addiction. I am trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, IFS, and Rogerian therapy. My approach In my experience with trauma, I have seen nothing so beautiful as the resiliency of the human spirit and its ability to persevere and overcome. I most frequently use EMDR, IFS, and CBT in my therapy. My focus I primarily work with clients overcoming trauma and addiction. My communication style I believe in getting to the seed of the problem to address the maladaptive behaviors that have manifested from there. My journey to mental healthcare This is my second career. I was a banker for most of my professional life. After my only sister passed away in 2011, I realized life was too short to work for just a paycheck. I wanted a job that filled my soul, and I found it in this career. My goals for you I believe therapy is a collaborative approach. I want to hear about your wants and needs. My first session with you I will conduct a brief introduction to therapy and ask about your expectations. I want to get to know you and your background. Why are you seeking therapy?
