Psychotherapist
NC
Hi there, I'm Catherine! Hello! My name is Catherine Scholz, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor working with clients in North Carolina via telehealth. I enjoy helping teens and young adults navigate life's curveballs such as relationship issues and breakups. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and suicidality. I also provide parent coaching to help parents navigate the ups and downs of growing up. My approach I see each client as a unique individual. Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and a strengths-based approach help my clients feel hope and experience growth. I am also a licensed school counselor, having earned my MEd in School Counseling from the University of Phoenix, which gives me insight into the stressors young people face today. My focus My style and approach are a good fit for teens, young adults, and parents. I am trained in Christian counseling and offer a faith-based approach upon request. My goal is for each client to feel valued and autonomous while gaining skills and beliefs. Clients end therapy feeling more empowered and confident. My communication style I am warm, non-judgmental, and easy to talk to. Therapy is most effective when clients feel they can be 100 percent honest with me. My clients tell me they always feel better after talking with me. My journey to mental healthcare I have always had a heart to help people work through their pain, not around it. I believe it's not the pain that will kill us, but the avoidance of it. As humans, we naturally want to avoid pain. I have wanted to be a counselor since middle school. My journey as a teen, young adult, mom, and wife has provided me with tremendous experience. God has given me much empathy for young people and parents! My goals for you Goals are an important part of therapy. After connecting with clients, I listen carefully to what they want to receive from therapy.
