Getting to know Ceila Aguilar

Starting your therapy journey can sometimes feel like you are climbing Mount Everest. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my role is to assist you in exploring various perspectives, learning coping skills to facilitate your progress, and connecting you with your inner resilience. I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client, using visuals, art, poetry, and music to explore meaningful themes. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and a trauma-informed lens, including EMDR training, to safely address past experiences and support healing.

What should a new client know about working with you?

With a background in supporting first-generation children of immigrants, I help clients heal from loss and trauma. I'm experienced in treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, life transitions, work/life balance, and generational trauma. Born in Veracruz, I work with English-, Spanish-, and Spanglish-speaking clients.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I strive to communicate with compassion, curiosity, and grace. Some common questions I ask are: “Where is the middle ground in this?” “What do you need from the session today?” “How can we help your mind and heart find common ground?” These questions often help clients uncover new perspectives and feel more empowered in their decision-making.
