Getting to know Celena Mendez

Hi there, I'm Celena! My name is Celena Mendez. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Southern California. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from California Baptist University. I work with women of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions, and other challenges, using a predominantly client-centered and eclectic approach to help clients heal and start feeling better. My approach My therapy approach is tailored to each client's needs. I most frequently use Client-Centered and Solution-Focused modalities, which help me connect with clients, understand their perspectives, and work together toward their goals. My focus My style fits teens and women dealing with life transitions and pressures, often presenting as anxiety, depression, stress, and interpersonal relationship distress. I help clients navigate these periods and build skills to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook. My communication style My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want clients to feel comfortable talking about anything and pride myself on listening without judgment. After building rapport, I am direct as fits the individual and their journey. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people. I am drawn to supporting others through difficult times and enjoy seeing individuals become their best selves. It’s an honor to be part of each person’s healing journey. My goals for you My goal-setting approach is about working together to define what you want to accomplish. This often starts by building trust and getting comfortable with what therapy means.
