Chandler Arnold, MA

Psychotherapist
CO
Hi there, I'm Chandler! I became a therapist after my time as an active duty Army veteran. My time in service helped me gain a passion for addiction, trauma, and the LGBT+ population. I love it when anyone gets to the point in their life where an "aha" moment is identified. My approach I use a few approaches; the two major ones are cognitive behavioral therapy and rational emotive behavior therapy. I believe Buddha said it best by stating, "With our thoughts, we make the world." It is very easy to fall into a thinking error, and that narrative takes control of who you are and the world around you. My focus I like to help people find their identity. My view of a therapist is that we are like compasses or calculators... without the client, we do not have a problem to solve or a direction to go. Trauma, addiction, self-worth, and other mental health disorders are solvable with the right tools. My communication style I think communication is another one of my specialties because it is easy to fall victim to games in conversations. Transactional analysis helps aid us in our way to remember our boundaries, as well as leaning out of the game so that someone's mental health can remain balanced. My journey to mental healthcare I was an active duty Army individual who found at one point that the medical field didn't speak to me the way mental health did, and that helped me get my master's in psychology. It also encouraged me to continue my education in areas that I am passionate about, such as trauma, addiction, and communication. My goals for you Through an effective treatment plan guided by the client, the therapist and client can work as a team to accomplish the objectives set in their own plan. The client plays a pivotal role in defining their own goals, and it is important that these goals be built around the SMART goal system.
