Getting to know Charity Horn

My name is Charity Horn, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. I approach therapy from a person-centered point of view, believing that each individual deserves a voice. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma-informed care. My approach My therapeutic style is person-centered, experiential, trauma-informed, and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I see the person as a whole existing within a system, trying to find where they belong. I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship—individuals need to feel safe, supported, and heard. My focus The typical client I work with is ready for change and willing to do the work. I am comfortable treating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, and work/life balance. My communication style In therapy, I strive to be present with my clients, helping them feel safe and heard. Working with me means feeling safe, noticed, cared for, and sometimes challenged. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to becoming a therapist because I witnessed people in my life not receiving the mental health care they needed. This motivates me to help others change their lives for the better. My goals for you I set goals based on each client’s needs and the changes they want to see in their lives. My first session with you During our first session, you can expect me to be curious, open, and non-judgmental. I work to establish a tone of caring and understanding.
