Getting to know Cherie Covington

Hi there, I'm Cherie! Welcome and congratulations on taking the first step in your healing journey! Let's have a chat about how to begin. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety, grief, and/or trauma. I operate with the assumption that we are equals working together towards a common goal in a safe and non-judgmental environment. What is said here, stays here, and I would love to work with you! My approach I approach care by first listening to You to better identify how we can proceed. Then we work together to identify viable therapy goals. Based on your needs, I use a variety of evidence-based therapy approaches that will specifically address your needs. I explain each therapeutic approach to help you better understand the road map to feeling better, more confident, empowered, and refreshed. My focus If you've ever felt disappointed, discouraged, or discontent and need a road map to feeling refreshed, renewed, and rewarded in life, I can help! A combination of symptoms of depression, anxiety, and overthinking can make a regular day seem overwhelming and exhausting. We can work together to find the treatment that is right for you and your situation. My communication style I prefer to communicate in a way that is conducive for your understanding. Sometimes I can be direct if that works best for you, or I can also take a more softer approach. I communicate in a clear, concise, open, and honest manner. I practice active listening, empathetic listening, and, of course, therapeutic listening so you feel heard and understood. Overall, the goal is for you to be comfortable. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a therapist began while serving in the Army and having the opportunity to help Soldiers and their family members with personal issues/concerns.
