Getting to know Cheryl Babb

Hi there, I'm Cheryl! Hello, my name is Cheryl Babb, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Masters in Social Work from California State University and my Bachelors degree from Northern Arizona University. Im passionate about helping you become your best, authentic selfwhatever that looks like! Therapy is about relationships: the one between therapist and client, as well as the relationship you have with yourself and others. My goal as a therapist is for you to feel seen, heard, and understood, and to take that capacity throughout your lived experience. My approach I will be your partner in your quest for emotional wellness. Together, well set goals that focus on exploring what is keeping you down, stuck, and preventing you from living an authentic, meaningful life driven by passion, purpose, and clarity. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I have an eclectic approach grounded in proven therapeutic models. I have studied and participated in advanced post-graduate trainings in Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Gestalt models. I have also explored art therapy, plant medicine, breathwork, and energy modalities. This combination has taught me to look below the surface to uncover and heal the roots of my clients struggles. My focus Ive been working with clients since 2004. From my passion for this work, I began training new therapists in 2010. Ive taught graduate-level therapy students since 2011 and supervised therapists since 2013. I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Adult ADHD/Neurodiversity, Trauma, Womens empowerment, LGBTQ issues, Life Transitions, Self-Esteem, and Relationship Issues. My communication style I have a warm, supportive style with a healthy dose of directness, swearing, and humor. You will be accepted as an extraordinary individual with unique experiences and strengths that will guide the change process.
