Hi there, I'm Cindy! My name is Cynthia Roe, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over thirty years of experience. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I am passionate about my work because it allows me to help people become their best selves. For over thirty years, I have helped my clients improve the quality of their lives by helping them see that their struggles are not because there is something wrong with them, but because something wrong happened to them. My vision for my clients is that they learn to practice self-compassion, let go of debilitating shame, live an authentic life, and experience true joy. My approach My approach is relational, mindfulness-based, and trauma-focused. Since much of my experience has been working with children, adults, and families impacted by trauma, my work is primarily trauma-focused, psychodynamic, narrative, and eclectic, depending on each client's unique situation. I am a certified TRM (Trauma Resiliency Model) practitioner. Because of my own experience and my observations of others in therapy, I believe in its power to improve lives. My focus I specialize in treating adults 18 and older with major depression, anxiety, PTSD, parenting and relationship issues, adoption- and infertility-related concerns, and LGBTQI+ issues. I am WPATH certified to assess transgender and non-binary clients. I have extensive experience working with adoption and foster care trauma. My communication style I am a straightforward yet gentle communicator. I will not shy away from necessary confrontation in the service of the client's progress, but I choose my words and non-verbals carefully so that, even if the client is hearing something they don't want to hear, they are able to take it in and know it comes from a compassionate place. I believe my clients feel heard, seen, and felt, and that they experience my genuine compassion for them.
