Courtney Swanson, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Courtney! My name is Courtney Farrell Swanson, and I am an LCSW with a Master's in Social Work from Simmons University. I provide strengths-based, client-centered therapy. I believe that connection is an important part of the therapeutic relationship, whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, a mood disorder, psychosis, PTSD, or other traumas. My approach I have an eclectic approach but rely on evidence-based interventions to help restore positive self-esteem and confidence in one's ability to cope and thrive in the face of life's difficulties. Through talk or psychodynamic therapy, we will explore areas where there may be distortions in thinking (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and work on correcting those distortions. We will utilize mindfulness skills to reduce stress and anxiety and increase the peace and well-being we all desire. My focus I have worked with a wide spectrum of mental health issues, ranging from mild depression and anxiety to severe mental illness, as well as co-occurring disorders. I have worked with many clients from the LGBTQIA community, as well as all age groups. I prefer working with transitional-aged youth through the elderly population. My communication style I am warm, friendly, and empathetic. I am easy to talk to and a good listener. I believe that what the client needs should be the focus of each session. I want to learn about you and tailor interventions to meet your needs. My journey to therapy Becoming a therapist was a long journey that started when I was an adolescent. I believe it is a calling that is profoundly meaningful and important, and I am honored to work with each client I have the privilege to meet.
