Getting to know Cristina Mendoza

My name is Cristina Mendoza, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Fresno, California. I am available to work with clients both in person and via telehealth. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from National University. I work with adults who are struggling with trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, or adjustment issues, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. My approach Therapy is a very personal process, so I strive to utilize approaches that best suit each individual client and their unique needs. I primarily use CBT, DBT, and EMDR therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to create goals and develop a plan to address the issues they want to work on. My focus I typically work with adults navigating challenges related to trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and life adjustments. I help clients build skills and confidence so they can not only address the issues they bring to sessions but also be better equipped to manage future challenges. My communication style I take a supportive and collaborative approach, giving my best to clients with the hope that they will do the same. I meet clients where they are in their wellness journey, gently guiding them through their struggles while encouraging growth toward the best version of themselves. I want my clients to feel safe and trust me as we walk together through their healing process. My journey to mental healthcare I have always loved helping others and was often the person friends turned to for insight and support. Coupled with my passion for psychology, becoming a therapist was a natural choice. I truly enjoy this work and love witnessing the growth in my clients.
