Hi there, I'm Crystal! My name is Crystal Bush. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist with a passion for providing person-centered, evidence-based care for adults facing a range of concerns-from anxiety and adjusting to transitions to making lasting change. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and hold a Bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University. My approach I believe therapy is a partnership best described as client-driven, with the therapist as a passenger. The client is the expert on where we're going and holds the map, itinerary, and goals for the trip. As the therapist, I'm along for the ride, making observations and providing assistance along the way. I use motivational interviewing to assess readiness for change and align myself with client goals. As a believer in person-centered care, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients explore the relationships between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My focus I currently work with adults, both individually and in couples counseling. I enjoy supporting clients as they reduce anxiety, resolve depression, manage stress, cope with change and transition, and heal from historical traumas. I also assist clients in exploring any concerns related to alcohol and/or substance use. My communication style I encourage clients to communicate freely, frequently, and openly with me. I strive to create and maintain a stigma-free treatment environment and do my best to ensure you feel safe and secure enough to share your experiences. My journey to mental healthcare I am not a therapist because I always wanted to be one. I believe we are all given gifts, and the gift I received is the ability to connect with people.
