Cynthia Howard, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Cynthia! My name is Cynthia Howard, and I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, East Bay. I've been working with parents and their children for over 25 years as a peer counselor and parent educator. My most recent work is school-based, providing support to students from elementary through high school. My approach I utilize a strength-based and client-centered approach to the therapeutic process. I use a very eclectic style, incorporating play and art, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Narrative-based modalities to support your overall needs and goals. My focus I have worked with parents of young children and students from kindergarten to high school, helping both parents and young people address whatever is holding them back from their goals. For parents, that includes addressing day-to-day concerns while building a larger vision of parenting. For young people, that can mean exploring values while also addressing anxiety, depression, grief, and other barriers to success. My communication style I am interested in hearing what you want to explore while still holding space for safety and growth.
