Psychotherapist
100 E Thousand Oaks Blvd, Ste 176, Thousand Oaks, CA
Hi - I am Taffie Bucci, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. I am a person-centered therapist who accepts where you are without judgment and supports where you'd like to be. My role is to empower you as you move forward. My focus areas are mood disorders, trauma (all kinds), and LGBTQ. My approach I use person-centered therapy (Adlerian and Rogerian) to connect with you therapeutically. I also use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am a board-certified EMDR therapist. My focus I primarily work with young adults and adults-anyone over 18! We discover what you'd like to work on collaboratively. I am comfortable treating mood disorders, trauma, LGBTQ, and substance use. My communication style I aim to communicate in a welcoming and accepting way. I examine our environments and how they support therapy. I have a strong sense of humor but am never mean. I can gently push when appropriate, always checking in with you. I am caring and empathetic, here to empower you-I don't give advice or tell you what to do. I listen, ask questions, and sometimes summarize what I hear. My journey to mental healthcare Clients can expect a quick overview of my credentials and experience. I remind them that everything is confidential and they can talk about ANYTHING! No topic is off-limits. I ask questions to understand who you are, and you get to know me. My goals for you I've always wanted to be a therapist! I volunteered in the adolescent ward of a psychiatric hospital and knew that was my path. In college (800 years ago!), I was a Psychology major but realized I needed further education to become a therapist.
